Patiece required
Once these hand warmers are "run in" they are superb. However at first they require a lot of coaxing to work for any length of time., I should explain i have 3 of them for our shooting party and with each one I have had to take 3-4 days to get them up to the full day warming status. That is follow the instruction and give time for the fuel to soak in properly then I add ahalf measure of fuel as a top up, This will usuall give 2-3 hours of heat. I will then give a full load of fuel and use again this time i tend to get about 6-7 hours of heat. The next top up and use will give you a full days heat Worth it definitely nothing worse than cold hands when out shooting S & F Y-Geo.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Takes a little bit of getting used to
The instructions suggest this is an easy, straightforward piece of kit to use; at first use it isn't. Filling and lighting for the first couple of times was not straightforward and it took two fills to get enough lighter fuel absorbed into the filler material to enable it to light. In frustration I poured fuel straight onto the catalyst material - don't! It damages very easily and costs money for a replacement. When in use (finally) it doesn't give 12hrs burn time - no matter how much fuel you put in. The best I got was 8hrs and the worst about 4-5hrs. I didn't try to refill it whilst it was in use. Heat output was excellent - hence getting the 'recommend' tick, but it is a hydrocarbon-burning fuel so the fabric pouch and your pocket gets wet in use, part of the output is H2O. It really does get too hot to use without the included pouch. Quality of components is excellent, nice finish.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Amazing product which does just as promised...
A great product which I came across by buying another. I have been a Zippo fan for years so when I fancied a hand warmer I bought a Zippo one. What a load of rubbish! It was difficult to full, no proper filling well, and difficult to light. Even when it was lit, lasted about 10% of the time it should before going out. A Google search lead me to the Whitby one. Firstly, the quality of manufacture is brilliant, feels a proper weighted item with both lid and burner fitting securely. The chrome finish picks up every fingerprint, but I love polishing it so no bad thing! Easy to fill with a separate filling spout and no drip rubber filer. Dead easy to light, and about 10 seconds on each side of the burner will see it reliably lit for hours.It gets to about 60c so too hot to hold in bare hands so you'll need the accompanied velvet pouch. Comfortable temperature
Was recommended this by a friend so thought I would give it a try. So far I've only fired it up once and being honest it does takes a bit to get it going. I filled it up to the max level (12 hours) and tried lighting it....it took about 5 mins to get it going however this was expected and apparently it takes a few burns to get it cured. Once it was going it worked a dream I was very impressed with how quickly it warmed up and it didn't take long to bring my pocket to a nice comfortable temperature. Goodbye Numb Hands
I bought this to keep some feeling in my hands when playing golf in the freezing weather. Was a little tricky to light the first couple of times but once it had had some fluid in a couple of times it worked a treat. I only half filled it which reportedly lasts for 6 hours. Even at my standard of golf was plenty long enough. It was still lovely and warm at the end of my round. It's a great little thing and the filler makes it easy to pour the fluid in without spillage. Great hand warmer

Cracking bit of kit ,
Lights quickly with zippo fld , the instructions say to remove rubber filler port to fill , no need as the filling cup just needs to be pushed into bung and fill this way , the bung s a self sealer so no leakage , this warmer 100% better than charcoal stick type , as the new style sticks are a pain to light and keep going outVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Small size but keeps you warm
Great product. Takes some getting used to when filling up. First couple of times it doesn't stay hot for long, but after that it will stay hot for 12 hours.
