TomTom Go Professional 6250 Truck – Lifetime Maps, Traffic, Cameras
I already have a TomTom Camper, incidentally the support was dropped and reverted back to current standard, I did feel this was unfair as a consumer. I decided to look at the TomTom 6250 and researched. I did need a GPS to accommodate Trucks, Buses, Vans and Cars. I needed a reliable name rather than to put trust in a cheap import. One had to assume Cars were included, as this was not very clearly indicated in the write-ups; allowing hesitation on purchasing this unit. Thankfully, after purchase, cars were found to be included.
So why buy a Truck, Bus, Van, Car GPS? As a professional driver, I required a GPS to consider size of vehicles, the types of load. This model includes HAZMAT for those with ADR licences, a useful backup. Consideration to the types of roads for heavy goods, preventing getting stuck on small country lanes to help prevent heavy fines, expenses for vehicle damage and recovery. The TomTom 6250 plans routes, appropriate to height, length, width, weight, axle loads and speeds.
I chose the 6250 over the 6200 version as it offered lifetime Maps, Traffic and cameras. The 6200 requires a subscription depending on promotion and could prove expensive long-term.
The 6250 has an adequate 6” screen with 2D/3D viewing, maps, (48 countries) of Western Europe, voiced street name if required, advanced traffic warnings to save delays, speed camera warnings. The 6250 can be paired using Bluetooth, receive email, text, phone calls, volume upgraded, adjustable and hands free. Seri, Google Now, WiFi compatible, allowing for automatic download during travel or via PC/Mobile on stops using ‘mydrive app’. Built in Sim also identifies POI such as Fuel, Parking and other interest points, appropriate to the type of vehicle.
What is inside the box? Basic manual, window mount, mag disc, USB lead, 12/24v cigarette socket adapter and not forgetting the TomTom 6250 Unit.
I am pleased, so far, with the TomTom6250 Unit.
