Google home good stuff
Early days so I have no idea of the devices life expectancy. It's easy to set up. Easily recognizes your commands, sometimes requires more specific questions. It's so cool to have music or podcasts playing via voice command however specific requests require a spotty premium account. It has good sound. Ask it about news and it plays bulletins from sources like sbs or and, you can change the sources from within the phone app. It can set alarms, convert measurements, set timers. It has once voice only at this time but that may change. Overall useful item to have, if you dont mind having a listening device in the home. Good looking and useful tool
As long as you stick to commands in tutorials, or ask things that Wikipedia knows about, it is brilliant. Try and move far from there though, like as it to do any sort of websearch and you get a "don't know", but that will improve over time too. This unit performs well and the sound is great for the small size of this unit. Only thing is I turned up the treble in the app for my tastes. Useful addition.
We use it to play music and it sounds pretty good, we get facts or the weather and make ourselves clever, and she tells jokes to make us laugh. Google Home is a warm and welcome addition to our family and we weren't expecting that. Also useful to set reminders or timers, make shopping lists. It does more but we are still learning to use its many many talents. G Home likes it on the fridge so she can talk to everyone...we have a Google mini in the lounge too.
