Does the job at a price.
Dyson quality but no doubting it is expensive. The thermostat is a useful (but not unique) feature and the remote control is easy and intuitive. It was noisier than I expected, even at lower fan speed setting, however it is advertised as much quieter then its predecessor- so maybe I was expecting too much, but worth checking to see if the noise is going to be a problem for you. Rather disappointing
Over priced and not as good as I hoped it would be. I bought a standard heater fan for way less and it heated my room just as good as this in the same amount of time. I bought this because after reading reviews and seeing the video on the website I thought it would heat my room quicker and more efficiently however it’s no better then a normal heater fan. This is just an over rated and over priced product just because it has a branded name. I'm a Dyson fan.
The fan is quiet with many speed settings and also types of air flow. Only downside is if used at night the led speed display an on off light are very bright. If covered then remote control doesn't work.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Too expensive really but it is a lovely thing and works well
I can't give this product 5 stars simply because of the price. Even at £249 its expensive. But... it is a beautiful thing to look at and the jet focus system works really well. I'd prefer the wide mode to throw a little air forwards as well, but that's a minor niggle. For generating a gentle breeze across a wide area, wide mode and speed 1 or 2 works very nicely. I don't know any other fan that can do that without oscillating. Brilliant. In terms of noise, this was one area I was concerned about and, considering the design, its pretty quiet, although I'd love it to be even quieter. I measured the SPL at 1m with a smartphone app in narrow mode (speed / db): 1 / 27db 2 / 28db 3 / 29db 4 / 31db 5 / 34db 6 / 35db 7 / 37db 8 / 38db 9 / 40db 10 / 41db Wide mode is approx 1db louder. My only complaint about the noise level is the motor noise at speed 1 is a little prominent. There is a drone at 300hz or so. Great heater but full RRP for effectively a used item?
A superb fan heater. Being from the Dyson stable, only to ne expected. However, at £399 perhaps somewhat pricey. My real gripe in this particular instance was that the full RRP of £399 was charged for a 'refurbished' unit as opposed to 'new' with a reduced warranty of 1 year instead of 2. Exactly what I needed
The Dyson AM009 hot/cold fan is ideal not only does it look elegant but with the remote hot or cold air is on hand immediatly. I chose a refurbished model as I woild not have been able or wanted to pay the rrp. Looks and works great
I ordered a refurbished Black and nickel colour heater mainly because only white ones where being sold new at the time of purchase in the uk and of course to save money, it is to be used in my living room of a small terraced house as additional heating / cooler when required. Im delighted with my purchase the heater sits well in the room, adjacent to my TV and base speaker, it looks like part of the TV set up, and im happy to have it there all year round which was the idea, the small neat remote works great too. The high price seems to annoy most people from the reviews, as at the end of the day its just a room heater and fan for summer, which most cheaper ones will do just as well, but what you are really paying for is a well made piece that looks aesthetically pleasing, like other purchases from sunglasses/ jeans to cars you will pay a premium for something that looks well and their is a demand to warrant it, thats life Dyson isn't making people buy it. I would go for a cheaper one if it's out of the way / hidden or looks are not your main driver. The refurbished heater came like new from Dyson themselves with a 1 year warranty (there are other suppliers charging more with only a 90 day warranty, look out for the Dyson address within the ad), it came 2 days after ordering.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Good, but expensive

Stylish and powerful heating solution.
This fan heater/cooler quickly warms up cool spots in the home, we used it during problems with our heating to keep the air temperature comfortable to work in. Like the tilt action which allows precise direction of heat to where it is needed. We haven't tried the cooling function yet but have no doubt it will be equally efficient.
