I am 76 years old and built my first plastic kit at 9 years and loved doing it.. this kit was by massive margin the worst designed kit Ii have ever built and means I am unlikely to buy any Faller kit again as it might be good but it might be bad.
any intelligent kit designer knows a weak point is where major components have to be butt joined. so an intelligent designer tries to stsgger related butt joints to providestrength, but not here!
in this kit, it would be easy to do so as the conveyor belt has a semi-circulsr covering, so a designer adds a sleeve on one which slides inside the other, but not here as it is a same weak spot butt joint, so I fitted a sleeve myself.
LATTICE GIRDERS are a problem, but a good design provided complete lattice structures with tops and bottoms and the diagonals in one part. here one girder is lige thst but the side girders are diagonals only so are hard to build and weak. in the end I replaced it with a girder from snother msker snd uded the debri as a load of scrap iron for a wagon!
These were just the msin faults; the instructions were poor and th lack of locating spots for the absurd design made it harder.
a few days later \I had a similar kit from a different msker which was superbly designed smd wemt together easily though basically similar.
