Shockingly poor, superficial video-game of a film - aimed more at generation X-box than any student of history. I couldn’t care less about any of the characters and the whole thing just passed me by, without a lingering thought - I couldn’t wait for it to end. Much better than the earlier version with Charlton Heston and Henry Fonda, (which spent too much time on the relationship between Heston's character and his estranged son and son's japanese girlfriend, IMO) This version pretty much accurate from what I have read in war history and the characters believable without the need to embellish them or re-interpret historical events as seem to be the case so much with remakes these days.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Exciting battle scenes, well executed.

This is without a doubt one of the finest at films ever made and for all there's a few historical inaccuracies in tiny areas, the majority is 100% correct and that's more than enough. The special effects are stunning the story is perfect and as a vivid ww2 lover and historian I must recommend this to all other ww2 historians or those with a passion for the period of that moment. It is my fond hope that one day more and more epic films of these proportions are made, maybe one day they will but for now.. it's a blessing to have this film. Excellent film!!
