well made, great writing experience
Changed my life in regards to note taking. I have long been a user of a "smart" notepad that you have to take pictures of in order to store notes but no more. The battery life has been incredibly good so that I can just leave it on standby all week and not worry about it having a charge when I need to take notes during a meeting while working from home. The screen is excellent for reading PDFs on and the full Android functionality means I am not shut out of my existing library of Kindle books as you can just load the app and they are readily accessible. I spent a long time researching these devices along with competitors like the Remarkable or going for a traditional tablet like an Ipad or Samsung Tab. The Remarkable is supposed to be very good BUT it lacks the ability to use your preferred note taking app locking you into their own system (and therefore out of any existing alternative format notes you may have), the same with your eBooks if you have an existing Kindle library. The tablets - well a single day of battery life and remembering to have it charged up made them a no-go for me personally. Having my books, notes, PDF manuals and even my audio books (using Audible) or even some music streaming in one device is great. Even a light bit of web browsing is not out of the question with the enhanced display "speed modes" for catching up on the news. It's light, well made and the writing experience is great - though I would recommend an alternative stylus such as the Norris Jumbo which has an eraser built in and has been perfect for me with this combination - the supplied stylus is a bit hard and a little thin for my grip leading to cramping hands. There's a tiny bit of work to get the Play Store app installed, but plenty of guides and once it's done it's on there for good with no further messing even after firmware updates from the Boox team. Backlight is nice additional touch too allowing you to change between warm and cool hues as desired to suit the setting.
