Stay dry.
Having bought two coats, in the past, that were supposed to be waterproof and having recently found out that neither were...I tried Nikwax TX Direct spray on water proofer. The instructions were clear and the spray was easy to use and dried reasonably quickly and now both of my coats seem to be as water proof as I had hoped for when I purchased them. Used cheaper products, don't bother

I've used this product mostly for my motorbike gear but this was for my North Face jacket - it does exactly what it says it does - just follow the instructions & you can't go wrong.
