Great for Windows Devices... might not be too great for some Androids
Excellent quality and superb warranty from MS. The adapter works great as marketed and has very little lag if any. It's only an issue if your device is very low end or if you're far away from the adapter. In general, the best it can get for a miracast type of device (chromecast just doesn't do everything I want given the environment, e.g. no wifi networks). Mine had a USB port issue and a simple online chat with MS support got me an instore replacement. Quick and simple. The best service I've gotten for gadgets. One issue that might be a deal breaker is that depending on the firmware version (they do get updated once in a while) and your phone OS, it might not connect at all. My Blackberry Priv on Android doesn't play nice with it. All other Windows laptops (with WiFi direct/miracast support) work well, including a Windows 10 Mobile phone that turns on Continuum with this dock. You might want to do a search to see if MS's official list includes your Android phone or when on sale, take a chance with it if you use it with other Windows machines. Great over all. No HD movies are watchable with MS wireless display adapter V2 as of June 2016
I t will work for presentations like work related, for spread sheets and Power Point but it's not ready for movies or YouTube. I've got a new high end computer with latest CPU & graphics, but they will not make it 10 feet thru the adapter to the TV. Easy way to connect with TV or overhead projector
So much simplier than running wires or connecting Bluetooth. Easy to move from one unit to another. We have a several different instructors and we can each use the same adapter without having to reconnect wires and taking out the HDMI to VGA adaptors, or reconfiguring the sound.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good Product
I found this to work well with My android Phone and Windows 10 Pro P.C. Also, I have my IPhone Syching data to the ICloud, so i can logon to my ICloud account on my windows P.C. and project my pictures. One orblem I found with my Microsoft Surface Pro. It is not compatible with this device. Works great right out of the box
I was looking for a way to display the contents of my laptop screen on a 4k TV, without dealing with wires. After reading up about the way this adapter works, I decided to pick it up and try it out. This adapter is designed to work with Windows, as opposed to Chromecast, which only works with the Chrome browser (on Windows). This Microsoft adapter uses "Miracast" - a fancy words which describes about the simplest way to connect a PC/laptop running Windows 10 to a remote display. The best part about it is that you don't need anything on the laptop side of things; Windows 10 comes with built-in support ! I just had to plug the adapter into the HDMI port of my TV, and the attached USB plug into the nearby USB port on the TV (just to give the adapter power to run). Smart phone to dumb t.v.
This dongle replaced it's predecessor whom lost it's sound. Works great on mirroring my phone's screen on my dumb t.v. Picture and sound are superb. Picture is way better than when I tether my PS3 to my phone to watch Netflix. Also, I do not use my hotspot data with this dongle. It only mirrors what is playing through my phone. The downside is that your phone screen must remain on and plugged to power while watching anything. To solve battery drain issue, I dim the phone's screen, it does not dim the t.v.'s picture. My t.v. does not have a power port in the back, so the dongle is connected to a phone charger while I use it. No programming or downloading necessary to use it. Plug dongle into t.v.'s hdmi, turn on t.v., power dongle on, press screen sharing on your phone, elect Microsoft or Dell, watch your shows. Boom, that easy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

This is the second Microsoft Wireless Adapter that I have purchased (both are same model #). I use the two Microsoft Wireless Adapters on the two Vizio brand TV's that we own (living-room and guest-room). Make sure that you update the firmware on this product. It's really easy to update the firmware. Having the most up-to-date firmware, streaming has been FLAWLESS, and I am very pleased with the image quality and speed of streaming. Like magic (if your computer supports it!)
This magic little device works amazing. However, your computer needs to support wireless display mode. Not nearly all windows 10 computers support it, and it's not obvious! Fortunately my older dell notebook did have native support, and it's truly impressive technology. I can't understand why every windows 10 computer doesn't have this native support, or at least offer what's needed for compatibility. I found my desktop pc did not support wireless display, and there are no easy ways to figure out why not. Very frustrating, it should be plug and play here - not plug and pray.
