noisy but it works great
I give it 4 stars because it's not quiet in full or normal mode. It could be smaller and it will be great to have more than one color option That said it works great ! After running for the first 3 days it removed 6 buckets of water from the basement air. My basement is a totally different place. Not Happy with this $641 purchase.
Both the units I bought are having problems operating. They both keep going to Fault Code EC. EC = "if the display code reads "EC", check the following operating conditions. Outlet Voltage should be 115V+/-10% and the surrounding temperature should be within the range of 41degrees F to 96 degrees F,. Unplug the unit and plug it in again under normal operating conditions. If the "EC" code persists, contact your Authorized Frigidaire Service Center." The units are plugged into 2 different outlets/breakers and the room temperature is constant at 75 degrees F. Has a Unique Feature
It has a unique feature which places it above the rest...it keeps its settings in spite of power failure. Besides being an excellent safeguard for seasonal homes, this means it can also be placed on a house timer. It is about as quiet or noisy as a window air conditioner. Easy to use and works well!
We have only had this dehumidifier for about two weeks, but are very happy with it so far. We use it in a basement which is not air conditioned and is half underground, so in the summer we definitely have problems with humidity in that area. This unit went right to work and has been removing gallons of water every day. We had read reviews that said it was noisy, but it is quieter than our old one! It puts out a constant stream of warm, dry air. Would be nice if it came in a dark brown color, but it works well so we will deal with the white!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality built but more noisy than I expected.
This machine is well made and really removes the moisture kwikly. The main negative is the high pitched noise that the compressor makes when it is on. I purchased this for my living room and sometimes the noise gets in the way of watching tv or having a converstation. I also noticed that the humidity level on the readout is 10% or so above the actual level. This was easy to solve by just raising the desired level 10% above the desired humidity level. This dehumifier is much faster at removing humidity than my 9 year old dehumidifier but is also more noisey.

Wife Changer
My wife needed a dependable large dehumidifier for our finished basement. She normally buys without checking dependability, reviews, etc. Having experience with a similar size Frigidaire dehumidifier in my man cave I convinced her to go with this model. Now she is extactic and amazed at how much water this collects. Because we have central air throughout the house this unit caused too dry conditions in the house. Excellent product that does the job well.
We had a major problem with wet interior windows and mold started to form in our mobile home. The entry door was sticking and the clothes we hung up to dry in extra bathroom took up to 3 days to dry. Even our automatic dryer was taking 4 times to dry clothes. We purchased this Frigidaire 70 pt. dehumidifier from e bay. It came a day early and we put in on continuous setting as the directions stated. We are amazed that every problem mentioned above ... started to go away. We consider this one of the best home improvements we could have invested in. Great while it lasts
This is a well designed unit that pulls air in from the front and blows it out the top. Easy access to the water collection from the front, with a handle that makes it easy to carry. It is not loud but not very quiet either since it does use a fan it is going to make some noise. I have had several of these just because of the design and how good it works and it will keep an area as dry as you want to set it. The only down side is that it will not last. The most I have had any of these to last is about 6 years. These used to last a lifetime but now that these are made overseas they just dont last and are not built to last! Noise level is comparable to a window air conditioner, but it is highly effective in removing humidity and associated musty odors. It does generate heat which is definitely noticeable in a small to moderate sized room.
