I'm not big on "As Seen on TV" products, but the Garden Weasel lives up to the infomercials. It quickly grinds up hard soil into loose plantable dirt. I've been using it for a few bare spots in my yard. Seed the ground, run the weasel, seed again, and run one more time. Now I'm waiting for the grass to sprout. The Weasel seems to be very rugged except for the plastic receiver that attaches the spurs. Seems to be more than adequate for the small jobs the thing was designed for. If you have a full size garden you probably want a Roto-Tiller anyway. It will only loosen dirt up a few inches deep as well. If you want to go deeper you might consider a different tool. Depends on what you want to use it for....
Not strong enough to do the job i wanted to do--- till up small areas of yard (top soil) to loosen up the dirst to allow for planting grass seed. I could do it but it would take forever. This tool would be excellent in flower beds that had good amounts of soil conditioner already in it just to loosen it all back up. Saw this whilst in America. Couldn't find one in any local garden centre, but saw this on e-bay. It was shipped from Kansas, very well wrapped, was kept fully informed via tracking and it only took 10 days to arrive in perfect condition. A wonderful garden tool, much better than a hoe. Can be used either way round, one way is deeper than the other so will take out weeds. You just push and pull the Garden Weasel over the weeds or hard soil a couple of times and the weeds are pulled up and out of the soil OR the hard compacted soil that grass seed can not grow on is now soft and cultivated allowing the grass seeds too root into the ground.
