Better
I have worn the original mechanix gloves till they fall apart. Then I cut the finger tips off and use them as fingerless gloves. The impact gloves have double layers on the fingertips so they won't wear as fast. Also I feel the grip is a little better but still needs improvement. The fit on all mechanix gloves is very good. The gloves are well made. I always look for deals and stock up cause they aren't made to last forever.
