Canon ip7250 problems
This is a good product with one major flaw - the instructions for using it are next to useless. The initial first setup using the instructions that were in the box are quite vague: I could only get the wireless connection to work by putting the printer right next to the router for it to recognise and connect WiFi. 20 feet away - no connection. Next, using the printing system for printing onto discs, which is what I bought it for. After some hours trying to make head or tails of the online user manual, I went onto YouTube, and watched a very useful video which clearly demonstrates the procedure. (Not an official Canon site, though). After following the video instructions I got a disc printing result with which I was very pleased with. The YouTube videos also demonstrate the two (why two?) paper feed in drawers; again I got a very good result printing a photograph. There are three media feed input trays on the front of this device, the disc input feed is quite well hidden: the YouTube video clearly explains how to use the media feed drawers: Canon take note. As Multi system printer it is excellent, but the whole ownership experience is marred by by very poor instructions of how to get the best from it. I am not a novice when it comes to printer tech; but I feel buyers should be prepared to put some hours in to get this printer up and running and using all the features. Without YouTube I would still be in the dark. Canon really need to put greater effort in how to fully use their kit, a half dozen diagrams on a sheet of A3 doesn't cut it. On the plus side, I had a rapid delivery from the seller, and the non Canon cartridges he supplied with it worked without any hesitation. Considering this printer does not have an inbuilt scanner it certainly has a large footprint - the biggest of all printers I have owned. Overall, I consider this a very good device, and well worth the money, but buyers should be aware of the lack of proper user instructions from Canon. Watch the YouTube videos and save yourself a lot of hassle. P.S. watching the YouTube video, the uploader recommends a great piece of software for making printed discs, far more easy to use than Canons method. I downloaded it and found it child's play to use. I have some high quality glossy adhesive full size disc labels which I stuck onto and ordinary dvd and then used the ip7250 to print onto. Result!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A step backwards
This printer has a large footprint and a low profile c450*390*125 without the delivery tray down, unlike it's predecessors (3500 and 4600), which are the opposite so you need a more desk space. Both paper trays are in the base and they slide out flush with the work surface. There is an A4 paper tray and one for smaller paper and envelopes, previous models had two A4 paper trays and one could also take smaller paper and envelopes as well but one was at the back and not internal, which I found more useful . When starting up or getting ready to print the printer goes through some routine, which involves the carriage moving back and forth for ages and making a lot of noise, just waiting for one piece of paper to print can sometimes take minutes. When printing the printer is quiet and there is also a quiet mode but this doesn't seem to make any difference to the start up racket, which I find annoying, I have no idea what it's doing. The first thing I checked before I purchased was the cost of catrtdiges (not Canon) and they seem reasonable. The packaged driver would not work so I had to download it from the internet, I am using windows 7 home premium. I do think I preferred previous models but this is great value with mains and usb leads and 3 extra sets of cartidges (not used yet) and don't forget it's a wireless auto duplex printer so there is a lot tech for the money. Print quality is good but only three stars because of the start up kerfuffle.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ink system
I have put not easy to set up as there are several ways to set this system up to your printer I suggest you look on you tube and see them and then choose the one you are most comfortable with. (Or if you are so minded make your own set up)Follow the instructions and Once installed and running it is very low maintenance all you have to do if printing a lot is check on the ink levels in the tanks to keep them topped up. Bottles of ink are readily available.This system will in the long run pay for itself as 1 you never have to go to the expense to buy new cartridges, 2 you don't have to get covered in ink changing them and disposing of the old ones. 3 this system you never have to touch the cartridges again as they reset themselves and always remain with ink inside as long as you remember to top the tanks up. The print quality is no different from using any other cartridges. Photo's etc. come out just the same.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Convenient CD/DVD & Photo Printing.
Very good print quality & easy to use. Primarily bought as a CD/DVD printer as so few printers at reasonable price capable of this now. Am now printing own photos on it now as quality is excellent. Unfortunately it lacks a scanner facility but as no need to access the top, I just park my other Canon Printer/Scanner on top and they look well together.

Lots of bangs for few bucks...
There's upsides and downsides to this product. First the bad news...If you are using a PC running Windows 10, then throw away the CD that comes with the printer (if it is the same Win Vista/7 one that I had..). If you install unsuitable drivers, you will get very frustrated and have to reinstall new ones from the Canon Website... The only other downside is that you will need a separate scanner as the printer doesn't have one.. Oh and make sure you google how to print on CDs before you attempt it yourself - there is little help from canon on what is a bit of an involved process, just FINDING the CD tray is an adventure in itself.. So the upsides... Once you have it set up and figured out where they hid the CD tray, it works great - nice printing even does DUPLEX!!! wow, I was NOT expecting that... Also...unbranded inks are cheap and readily available - but, to be fair, it has not run out of any of the factory supplied inks yet and we have printed off loads more than our previous printer could have coped with...The CD printing works well once you have figured it out - be patient, don't do anything until the software tells you to do it... Remarkably few on-board features and buttons compared with my previous printer, but it shows that really I didn't need that screen and all those features built into the printer if I have access to everything from the PC software.. All in all, I am really pleased with my purchase, the printer is quietly efficient and does more than I expected for the budget price that I paid...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does the job well for a very reasonable price
Generally it's a good printer with very acceptable speed and quality of print. It actually has an amazing feature set for the price you pay Replacement inks can be pricey but we tend to use third party rather than OEM inks so this saves quite a considerable amount on running costs. The only negative points I would say are its quite noisy and takes quite some time to initially start-up... If you want to print quickly then this isn't good as you could almost go and make a cup of tea while you wait for it to initially start up; once it going though its speed is absolutely fine... We use a small B/W laser printer for the majority of stuff at home which warms up and prints straight away so this issue isn't a big deal to us as we use this Canon IP7250 just for our more high end quality colour prints. In all honesty for £50.00 you can't really complain as it does everything yuo need it to very well just slow and noisy at times. Only problem is the ink
I bought this printer from ebay as a replacement for an IP4300, used mainly for photos and DVD printing (downloaded movies from Sky to take on my hols). That printer is not supported by Windows 10 which I was forced to take. It doesn't look the most robust effort but works just fine. Good points are easy set-up, incl wireless (works with any number of different computers), two print trays - paper and photo paper - slung underneath, out of sight and allowing use of the printer's top surface unlike the IP4300 which had to be loaded from the top. The ebay listing said it came with ink though they were all empty, but were compatible inks, not original. I had always used original for fear of blocking the print head on the IP4300, which failed anyway and probably not due to the ink. So I was happy to continue to use compatible inks with this 7250 and it seems to work very well though ink capacity is not great. But it makes awful noises when preparing to print, and takes a while to get going. And you can't tell the ink level by examining the cartridges as they're not clear plastic, nor the paper levels without taking out the trays. But, put up with these minor shortcomings and use compatible inks (Canon price original ink as the most expensive liquids on the planet - including most drugs! Canon should give a free printer with every set of inks!! And you should be well satisfied with the results, though be wary of your ink supplier as those cartridges may well have been recycled many times and be worn out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good printer
I found this printer easy to set up, and it gives good quality text and photo printing. It will do complete edge to edge borderless photos all the way round, unlike my old HP one, which would only print up to three edges. It works OK with compatible ink cartridges, which do a good job, and can be bought quite cheaply. The only negative point is that sometimes you have to wait a minute, while it primes the cartridges (I assume), before it begins printing. Great Printer for the price
This is a great printer for the price and excellent prints. its a shame that it doesn't come with the tray to print onto CDs and DVDs, luckily I had already got them from a Canon IP4200 I used to have which fit this printer. I bought this one as I had the same printer which had stopped working and didn't want to waste the inks that I had bought for this printer. If you buy this printer and your last printer was the same printer you will have uninstall the printer driver if you want to run via usb and then reinstall using the CD that comes with the printer, other than that its a great printer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pretty impressed after a frustrating start
Forget about the CD it comes with! With no screen on the printer, just a couple of buttons and a couple of lights, it’s hard to know what’s going on, especially if it’s not what is meant to be going on. Eventually after some Googling it was up and running, on my network, visible to other wifi devices, etc. No problems since. Note: if you’re using a Mac and just let AirPrint handle it, you won’t have access to the printer utilities (allowing you to print test pages, clean heads, etc.) You need to install the proper CUPS driver as if it were a wired printer.
