Great speaker overall, a little overpriced.
It appears as the bluetooth connection gets sloppy at times, temporarily stops the music (~2 seconds) then goes back to normal. Additionally, for a product that is pre-owned and without original packaging, the price is a little too high ~$95 + tax compared to a previous sale at Best Buy for ~$100 BRAND NEW. I only resorted to this product because I had missed the sale at Best Buy. Bad sound quality
This speaker pairs up via Bluetooth very fast and the UE app is nice. The speaker is well designed and the simplicity of the controls are nice. However, this speaker sounds like a**. Inside floor model

Disappointing app connections, great sound
Works well once set up. I want this to work with a pricier Hyperboom I have, and it has been a trying experience to connect them. Both this Megaboom and the Hyperboom disconnect randomly, which is so frustrating when using the UE app. Without using the app, and just connecting either speaker through Bluetooth, there has NEVER been a dropped connection. Overall - could be improved. I hope another app comes along to replace Ultimate Ears. Sound quality is good for this MB 3.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Heavy Duty with a lot of sound.

Save with a refurbished unit
The speaker I purchased is refurbished. While it did not come in the original box or have the product documentation, it appeared new in every other respect. The speaker feels substantial and well made. It does not feel hollow or empty. The sound of the speaker is good but no of the quality of a high end set of speakers. The sound comes out of the sides of the speaker so placement helps with the sound. I downloaded the Ultimate Ears app to my phone. The app includes an equalizers which allows some tweaking of the sound. I found the normal setting provided the best and clearest sound for me. The app itself is underwhelming. I would have liked there t be profiles for blues, jazz, rock etc... The marketing for the megaboom emphasis the booming base. While the Bass is pushed I found it was a bit much and caused the sound to be a little muddy. I scaled it back and found the sound so much better. The key reason for my purchase was the great product reviews and the loudness of the speaker. It does a great job in filling a good sized room with volume to spare. I am very happy with my purchase but a lot of that has to do with the savings I received by purchasing a refurbished unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

sound quality is clear, power delivery adequate
for it's size and portability and cost UE Megaboom 3 meets my 5 stars performance grade. I can hear the song lyrics clearly. It's important of high grade quality when you can hear the lyrics crystal clear. Now there's the singer that contributes to the clarity of lyrics. Rap artists sometimes run their lyrics too fast and depending on back ground music it can be difficult to hear the lyrics clearly. But I've played various genre of music on my brand new UE Megaboom 3 all played crystal clear. Bass sound is also crystal clear. Absolutely no distortion thru 500 plus songs I've played. Previously I had the JBL 4. While it played ok as long as the songs did not have too much base. The volume setting on JBL 4 was 1/2 of the max I could hear a little distortion I the base. Not sure if the one JBL 4 I had was a lemon unfortunately it stopped working. There was power fully charge but no sound even after factory reset.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Awesome little speaker

Pretty good
It is kinda a bummer that I have to keep it plugged in so it doesn’t automatically turn off since it’s a store demo of course, other than that it’s great. When I first got it I didn’t know what the magic button did so it ended up playing Shape of You by Ed Sharren at full volume and I was freaking out lol. Great speaker
