A great addition ot my kitchen devices
I decided on this model after examining a wide range of reviews on various models available. Based on the reviews and customer feedback this one had the best satisfaction to purchase ratio and even though I didn't originally intend to spend this much, I eventually discounted the cheaper models due to their apparent lack of suitability and durability. I love it when a product does what it says it will do with a minimum of fuss and that's what this machine does. Its easy to use and the instructions are fairly short and to the point, though I did spot a grammatical error on the sealing operation which threw me for a second. Page nine section 5 reads - 'Open the upper lid and place either the open end of the bag material on the sealing strip'. It should read - Open the upper lid and place either end of the open bag material on the sealing strip. ( the second "the" being superfluous) I've used it half a dozen times only, so can't speak to durability or longevity, but it does seal, vacuum, and generally work very well. Before purchasing I was initially concerned the vacuuming in process wouldn't be sufficient to provide proper extended life of the sealed contents, but the process is really quite thorough with all the air being properly evacuated from the bag, so my fears have been allayed. It's sturdy, well made and also comes with two rolls of vacuum bags which you can cut to length, something I found particularly handy. So far not impressed by this product
This is good for trying to keep food fresh short term but unfortunately after about 10 days in the fridge the vacuum looses from the bags, I even double sealed the ends of the bags and still the seals fail ,and i am not using cheap rolls of bags its the proper bags, I have vacuumed veg and placed in the freezer about 8 days ago and so far the seals seem to be holding but it will only be when i need to use the veg will i know if it has worked so the jury is still out on this productVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

AJ's food vacuum sealer
We have an AJ electric food slicer and a meat grinder, this machine complements both as we have gone into homemade bacon curing, sausage and pork pie making. we also wanted a way to protect foods from being crushed and knocked about in a sometimes, full freezer. Vac sealing will keep food fresher for longer in a fridge. For a freezer, vac sealing will protect foods from frost burn and unnecessary damage once frozen but also allows you to keep foods longer than regular freezer 'keep' times. As with most AJ home kitchen machines it is not advisable to use them as if they were commercial 'workhorses' but if used correctly as in the instructions you will find that the do the job extremely well and last quite some years. We use all 3 machines regularly and are very happy with the results from all especially this latest acquisition. The storage box is very handy keep and cut off the required amount from the 2 rolls provided and although this means you have to seal both ends, you are only using the amount you need. It is light, well made and the vac motor is not too noisy although some may think it is. We have used this machine often in the past week and have not found any faults or negatives, as yet. Brilliant machine
I had the same model for years, but moved a few times and it got damaged. So I got another as I knew it well and loved it. It does say in the tell us more section 'Is it compact?', well it isn't small but it is flat-ish and fits in my wide kitchen drawer, so for me it is perfect in that aspect too. This has had a few adjustments too which are so simple but so helpful, for example the lid clicks to stay open and the suction pipe inside has moved from the middle where you put the bag to the side so it doesn't get in the way. Top quality vacuum food sealer
