Brilliant SSD for my MSI Wind

Good drives good price and reliable

Western Digital Blue 500GB ssd - Perfect for the price, quality and performance
Hi my names Trevor, I am going to tell you why I think these drives are a great buy. Firstly and most importantly for me has to be quality, price and performance. When my gaming friends first mentioned SSD drives and suggested I buy some it is something I had to consider as I could see in game at the time they were faster than I was and after asking them what they were using we made equipment comparisons and I realised ssd drives were a good idea. Quality wise looking at these drives they look pretty much like any other ssd drives on the market with nice decals and some performance information printed on the front of the drive as they are standardised at 2.5" They are reasonably and competitively priced with other manufacturers drives and there are a lot of drives to choose from. The Performance increase I have noticed since using these drives is a lot better than the old sata 2 disk drives I was using, I also own and would recommend a 3TB WD 6 Gbs red nas drive for storage. They are a little slower than high end Samsung drives however as you may well know and can see for yourself the premium price. Great improvement
I bought this to upgrade my now 12 year old pc. It was running windows 7 and needed to upgrade to windows 10 and decided to upgrade the primary drive to SSD at the same time. It took about 7 mins to boot on my old system and now takes about 35 seconds! My old WD drive served me well and here’s hoping this one does the same and initial signs are good. It was a matter of fitting and no issues with loading win 10. I needed a 2.5” to 3.5” adapter but bought one in advance so about 1/2 hour to fit and I was away! Well worth using.
The WD Blue SSD has a good reputation and seems to live up to it. I have recently upgraded my laptop and this included swapping out the HDD for this SSD. This has made a huge difference, reducing start-up time from over a minute to just a few seconds and allowing blisteringly fast file transfers. Plus, it's physically far more robust than any HDD. Decent SSD
When it comes to SATA SSD's there's not much to compare between devices as most are able to exceed SATA 3 data transfer speed. Look for warranty, price and any manufacturer software included. The WD Blue has a pretty standard 3 year warranty and while it's software isn't seen as good as Samsung's when it comes to drive cloning it's price is lower than an Evo so it's definitely worth a place on the short list when looking at a fresh OS install or a drive for your Steam games.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
