I bought one for my toddler grandson he watch all the cartoons there and my other grandson that is 4 yrs old he plays all the games and the good thing about is how fast they learn to manage this product, it is also a good devise for the toddlers to learn to speak. 8 is much slower than my 7 was. My 7 battery died in 6 months. It is too new to tell about 8 battery. The extra advertising when turned on and the overkill of reading apps could be slowing it. Great kindle
It is a great e reader/tablet. Like the 8 inch screen. I ran the reader for a week before i had to charge it. I use it for reading, my grandson uses it for playing games on it.
