  • Phenomenal book - superb

Love it lived in highlands for 5 years visited about 17 bothies Now i have 50 new adventures waiting to happen -- great photos - nice font and text - just enough of it - its not a heavy read -- a big fold out map of them all inside would be good but it does have a vague map inside --- many see it as controversial showing these places to the wider population - i've always liked the secret nature of bothies - still love the book - sadly bothies may get inundated with city folk leaving trash and toilet waste behind.

  • Well written, great photos and a trove of information

This is a well written book. It contains additional information beyond just the history and location of each bothy. Aspects such as bothy condition, availability of fresh water and firewood at each site are very useful additions. This review does come with one caveat, that is that I have yet to use this book to go to any of the bothies detailed to verify the accuracy and the usefulness of the directions provided. Nevertheless it is a great inspiration to go out exploring.

  • Whaow. This has opened up anothother side to outdoor adventures.

Whaow. This has opened up another side to outdoor adventures. Its a well written book. Its so surprising the condition of some of the bothies and motivated me to broaden my experience of experiencing different parts of Scotland. It has great information on where to park and travel in from to them, covering the whole of Scotland. THis book tells of what you need, what to prepare, what to expect and what to experience. This information with how to get from them with the great books layout, means it is a prize buy. Well worth it.

  • A wonderful book

I am hugely impressed with the work Geoff has put into this tome, although I'm quite sure it wouldn't have seemed like a chore to do. The pictures are beautiful and the words are genuine; above all it makes you want to get out there to discover these hidden (or not so hidden) gems for yourself, armed with a bottle of wine, a handful of candles and a bag of coal. A pleasure to read.

  • Well written and put together

Bought as a present for an experienced mountaineer who has never quite known locations or amenities at Scottish bothies. It is very well thought out and put together and very much enjoy trying out as many as we can!

  • The S.B.B. review.

As far as I'm aware this is the most complete book of all Bothy's in Scotland. Not only does it tell you about Bothy's but it it gives you detailed maps on where they all are & how you can get to them etc.
