Lego 60197 Passenger Train
I would say this is a decent to nice set. It i s pretty durable. You get just enough track for an oval. The train looks nice but to me it appears too short and the flat rear train looks like something is missing. It is fun if you invest more money into a train station, more track, switching tracks, Lightailing lights to light up the 3 cars and the flashing red and green light. You also need 6+4 AAA batteries for the motor and Bluetooth remote. You need a decent amount of space and extra track to design a more interesting track. The train has nice power with 10 speeds forward and reverse in remote. Had trouble connecting train to iPhone app for PowerUp, but I will keep trying. The app offers sound effects through your device and controls to operate the train. Watch YouTube videos for help with paring and how you can operate up to 4 trains with one remote. I added a second train and the motor has no issues pulling it around. Just make sure your track has wide curves to handle the turns with a 6 car train. Try to find a new one on sale, $100-$130 and it’s a good deal. I recommend the passenger train, and if you like it you may end up wanting to build a Lego city inside the track area…

Say yes when kids ask to try it
I had always liked model railroading. Lego trains are not that by any means. But, they are something that people of all ages can get their hands on without the usual, "maybe when you are older you can help." Step one, of course, is the assembly, providing entertainment from that process alone. Then, getting the track set up, which only takes a few minutes. Followed by the excitement of operating the trains. Which practically anyone can do without concern of damaging the Lego.
