There are meant to be two 1x1 dark grey pieces. One of them is present, but one has been replaced with two light 1x1s, so you can choose whether to use 2 pieces of the same shade or one correct piece and one different piece and the parts for the engines are slightly different, as seen in the main picture. The instructions are a bit worn but definitely still usable. Although used, it will provide fun and entertainment for any young LEGO enthusiast.
