A golden oldie film which has been overlooked.
A rare movie that has both an intelligent storyline and very good acting. Also the picture quality was acceptable.

Nostalgia trip
I saw this as an impressionable teenager and never forgot it. Never thought I'd find it again. I loved both Maria Schell & Marius Goring in it. Her smile lights up the screen and her fragility and vulnerability shine through. It was a treat to see Marius Goring in a more sympathetic role. I loved the music and the scene when they first play together on the piano- just lovely. Their situation was impossible which it made it more moving. Yes, in comparison to today's films with their graphic love scenes it does appear stiff. It was made in the era of strict censorship which does limit it. But it is still a very sweet film to have in one's collection.

Saw this film many years ago. Groundbreaking considering how soon after WW2 that it was made. Wonderful actors who portrayed the content so sympathetically.

so little time dvd
took 17 days to arrive from speedy hen which wasn't particularly speedy but not there fault I'm sure that's a postal issue. arrived in perfect condition, and played perfectly, was highly enjoyed by the recipient, my mother. regards Kerry
