Great bag that has classic, rugged styling with modern features
This is a great bag. The medium size shape and rugged style is very attractive. I like the functionality of this bag including the several open pockets that you slide an iPad, a water bottle or other small items into I chose this bag over the traditional briefcase bag because it features more functionality like small organizer pockets (for pens, business cards, notepads etc), a trolley strap that slides over the handle of rolling luggage, front zip pouches etc. I was worried that the two big zip up pouches in the front would disrupt the clean lines, but it still looks really nice.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality
Have been eyeing a Filson for some time now. After arrival it met all expectations. Really like the “tin” material. It is substantial without being overly thick and seems like it will put up with wear and use well. Can’t speak to the frequency and need to refinish with the included oil/wax but I wouldn’t expect this to be beyond “water resistant” in any case. There is some heft to the weight of the bag but not unreasonable depending on what is carried and for how long. For my purposes traveling or carrying to/from work and my car it hasn’t been an issue. The Navy color is very dark but in the light (and I’m sure with more wear) it contrasts well with the dark brown of the bridle leather. The strap is not leather but is thick and substantial and I’ve had no issues with it. Finally the carrying capacity is considerable - but keep in mind that it looks/functions best when about 70% full at max. Beyond that it becomes cumbersome and probably too heavy also. TL;DR Quality materials that combine function and stylish form that can be both professional and casual at once. If you are thinking of getting one, just do it.

I've owned many great bags from a Ghurka no5 to Tumi. The Filson 24-hour tin cloth is exceptional. Perfect size (I'm just getting used to rearranging compartments), but love the utility and the look of the bag. Rugged Quality
