High quality NVME great price.
The Samsung 970 Evo plus is one of the best and fastest m2 nvme blade ssd drives in its price range, at this great price it was a bargain and works very well in a Mac with most recent firmware, which this one already had, saving me downloading and flashing, so worked out of the box. Ridiculous speed increases over sata 1/2/3 ssd’s, make the system feel instant and snappy like a very powerful new/current machine despite being used on a 2009 Mac Pro 4,1 > 5,1. Great performance from a Gen3 NVME SSD
I needed a larger system drive and used this to upgrade my 256GB Samsung SM951. Whilst both are GEN3 drives, the 970 Plus is significantly faster in sequential read and write tests; rather less so in random tests. I've installed the SM951 in a PCI-e adapter to be used for data storage. Surprisingly I actually get better speeds in the PCI-e slot compared to the M.2 slot on the motherboard (an ASUS Z170-A).
