  • found coolant leak fast

Having had a coolant leak for a year and not been able to find it because it was only a little leak, I needed to apply some tricks so bought a pressure tester, not conclusive. Bought the dye and UV torch, 20 mins after pouring the dye in the torch highlighted a possible leak on a temperature sensor on the lower rad hose. This is where I thought the leak was after using the pressure tester. A new O on the sensor cured the loss of fluid. Now bought another bottle of dye to put it in "stock" for when I need it next.

I've used this UV dye to detect coolant leak in my car and I need to say it works perfectly I found the coolant leak using the UV light which saves me a lot of money on paing someone else for the diagnostic great product at a great price

  • I see the light !!!!!!!!!!!!

Used to look for radiator leak . Very simple just empty half the bottle into rad, top up , run engine then keep checking for luminous green leak with black-light torch, simple as that. WORKS GREAT.

  • Seemed too good to be true.

You have to supply your own aaa batteries, but it works a treat. Could not find a cooling system leak. Tried all the tricks. Put this in to header tank, ran engine until it got warm and the thermostat opened. Hey presto a glowing puddle on the floor, looked up and you can see the leaking junction. Amazing.

  • Great product

Helped me to easily diagnose a leak from my water pump. The only negative is that the torch isn't very good quality and I had to force the batteries in as the compartment is too small

  • Found my coolant leak in a few minutes

The UV flash light is an LED so the beam is shorter so you really need a darker garage for inspection for it to be effective. The UV Dye is very bright so you can't miss it in areas that are leaking. I'm happy with the purchase.

  • simple and effective

used it to diagnose my cars cooling system. The Dye was more than enough for a small car and with the uv torch the leak glowed bright green as promised. Though needs to be dark, and not in bright sunlight. The torch is very basic, but for the price of the price of the kit, more than happy.

  • Easy to use and highly visible

I wasn't sure about whether this would work or not, but I finally got round to doing the the job today. I was worried because the leak was so slow, just half a litre a week, so was not really expecting the dye kit to work. I added the dye to the hearder tank, ran the engine till it was warm and started to look for any tell tale signs with the black light. Low and behold, right under the water pump there it was, just a drip of brightly luminescent dye, I was surprised and amazed at how easy it was to see the dye, even in a garage in daylight. Obviously, you have to know where to look and understand the cooling system, but I expect if you weren't confident, you wouldn't be buying the kit in the first place. I would highly recommend this product. I have fixed the leak, a faulty water pump and have now got anti freeze in the engine ready for the winter !

  • Good quality product and easy to use

It does what it says on the tin. You need to use a uv lamp to detect the leak though which I already had one.

  • Good product and saves a lot of time.

The only flaw is getting the right size AAA batteries to fit the cartridge holder. They have to be very thin in order to slide the cartridge into and out of the torch tube.
