Good product, but with limitations you need to understand
Product is very easy to set up and is well made but you need to understand that if the camera is sited too far away from its wifi hub that results will be disappointing. Either you'll have to re-locate the camera or change your wifi arrangements, perhaps by using some form of relay or a mesh system. Both will involve extra expense. You also need to realise that Ring security isn't that great - so siting a camera ns rooms where "private" or "intimate" activity may take place might not be a good ideaVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not fit for purpose - useless in hot weather
Not fit for purpose. Quote from Ring Support Tech "They have difficulty identifying a human's body heat in hot weather, not the cameras fault that's IR Technology" Range around 5 yards. To improve that you have to increase to max sensitivity and then even a bee sets it off. As monitors the video is good but if you left them switch on Live view then you would need the wired version. The Door Bell Cam can't even pick out a car reg in daylight. They look great and seem well made are easy to set up but they are slow to react.. A good solid product that works well. It was easy to set up but took a while for it to update itself. I needed to change the Wifi extender position in the house, and due to previous security issues that have surrounded the items I set it up on a guest WiFi. I have had no issues but would recommend buying a spare battery for security continuity when the original is drained and needs recharging. On offer for just £65 each I bought two of these little units to add to my 4 other ring devices, I pay the £80 a year subscription to ring so I can have as many devices as I like watching and recording 24/7. I did have a wireless cctv system before and it was pretty useless always dropping out or freezing/going out of sync this ring system works really well and has caught quite a few incidents in the 18 months I've had it on it's recordings and brought the people to task for what they did, including a neighbour who causes problems for their amusement because they have nothing better to do now having to behave because they know they are being watched and listened to when they are on my driveway. These two new unit's are there to live in the gymnasium we have built under the car port and the garage where I have my motorbike to watch over the equipment we have there, they are both mains/wired units as I feel they are better for me than the battery versions, they are easy to fit in place and once you open the ring app follow it's instructions power the camera up it pretty much does the joining of the network all by itself just make sure you can scan the code on the unit with your phone before you put it in it's working position. Both my units activated straight away but then needed to do an update so actually started doing their job about an hour or so later. Very good system I have my children and wife on the network too so they can view everthing happening around the house and we can even have conversations with each other from phone to camera how good is that.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good all round security camera, motion response time slow.
Good all round security camera, motion response time as with many other Ring products is somewhat slow and often people can be missed due to the delay in sending the view messages. Good but needs to auto stop recording when in.
Cheaper end of the range and does a good job. My complaint would be that it doesn't have geographical locator capability to turn on when out and off when on such as a Canary camera. This makes it a bit of a nuisance recording all the time.
