Great quality hedge trimmer which is perfect for large hedges
The hedge trimmer is light and easy to hold the blades are very sharp and the two battery system is great as one is charging (about 15 min) while the other is being used to cut the hedges ( 20min at least in normal use). The unit is safe but powerful with little noise in use. The only downside was the plate at the end used to hang up the hedge trimmer. This small plate snagged the thick branches (sometimes in a dense hedge) so in the end I removed this part and now the tool is excellentVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A single use and kaput!
Spear and Jackson hedge trimmer, refurbished. I appreciate there’s a risk to buying refurbished goods but you expect the item to work at least more than once! First cut, took a while to find the machines bite (how far the trigger could be pressed before it didn’t work), not ideal but I kept going. Second cut this morning and the machine refuses to stay on. Hold the machine parallel to the ground and it’s ok (not great but the blades move). As soon as you change the angle the blades stop turning! Spear & Jackson Hedge Cutter
The good point about this hedge cutter is that it comes with two batteries. The bad points are that it doesn't do a very good job of cutting my hedges. Also it doesn't like cutting slightly thicker stems, it jams and you have to physically remove the obstruction, and start again. Very frustrating!!
