I’ve had a few of these drills dismantling machines within a scrapyard environment and they take some serious punishment. Robust and powerful with plenty of great features. I would definitely recommend as mine either lie in a pool of water or oil and still deliver the goods. Loads of power and speed, mainly used for drilling aluminium in my profession, purchased as a second drill having used a DHP453Z daily for a number of years. Another lighter duty drill would have been fine, however a Jubilee voucher made the DHP458Z a steal. Bought this to replace a Combi drill I had which was starting to rattle as the bearings was on the way out, I have to say I favoured another make but decided to try this Makita I was not disappointed it’s very powerful and performs really well and the hammer action is very good too for masonry jobs.
