Great slicer for home use.
I bought this slicer mainly because I make my own bacon and biltong. I have found it to work very well indeed. I slice my bacon with the smooth blade and it has no problem doing this. It cuts from tissue thin to heavy cut with no problem at all. It will slice the bacon as fast as I can and still be reasonably safe! I always fridge my bacon before slicing as it is easier to handle. I use the wavy blade for the biltong. I slice my biltong a little wet as I like to dry the slices in a dehydrator as it is faster and gives a better end result (In my opinion) I was amazed at how easily the slicer cut the biltong. Usually I do this by hand and it is NOT easy! Cons. There are a few minor ones! The thickness adjuster was too loose and shifted during cutting. I had to remove the base plate and tighten the nut. I found the gap between the product holding plate and the blade to be too wide. If the product being sliced is soft it tends to suck down into the gap and you need to turn the product over every 10 slices or so. This is irritating! You do need to pay attention to the temperature of the slicer as the motor ventilation could be better. Having said that, I could cut a lot in 10 mins and then I just let it cool for 30mins and it was good to go again. I will be improving this on my machine. On the whole I found this to be a good buy. I am very happy with it, and though I will change some things, it actually does the job as is just fine. Good value for the price! DaveVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quite basic
I bought this for home made bacon mainly. Even with the bacon partially frozen to aide slicing, this slicer drags the meat under the blade leading to a lot of offcuts. It’s a bit flimsy as well. I don’t use it often, so I’m okay with it, but it’s not the best quality. For the price however, it’s not too bad a purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent at it's job, though bulky.
It does the job very well BUT..... removing the blade you need to turn the centre spindle lock, and I have to use an adjustable spanner because I cant get my fingers in to apply enough force to turn the lock. A key would be ideal for this. It is supplied with two extra blades- but with no markings to say are they for bread, cheese, ham, etc. All in all a good easy to clean machine, though heavy and bulky, -you need to find room for storage.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Electric Slicer.
I have only used this machine a couple of times so far. It does the job it was designed for quite efficiently,but is rather noisy in operation. I have always wanted one of these and after a lot of looking I found this one. I made the purchase and it arrived quickly and although I haven't used it yet, I found it impressive looking for the price, and the extra blades is a bonus. It is quite compact not too heavy and I am sure that it will be exactly what I wanted. I find the fact that I can select the thickness of the slices a great feature. Great slicer
