    Almost perfect

This grinder is of the 'burr' type. It looks really smart. Not pretty. But smart. It is well made, solid and heavy in a reassuring way. You can adjust the grind from a light dust to very course. And you can vary the quantity to suit the coffee maker you are using. Two cups for an espresso maker. Six cups for a cafetière. This way, you ensure maximum freshness by grinding only what you need. OK all good so far. I've had three of these in six years. 'Eye, there's the rub'. They don't last, I'm afraid. I use mine once a day and most days. Say 340 times a year. So that's 680 times before it stops working. Or around 5p per grind. Then the grind becomes too course. I've tried cleaning it. I've tried fiddling with it. I've tried shouting at it. I've even tried praying for it. Nothing works. But it's so good before it quits, that I buy another the same. I'd still recommend these grinders over all others I've tried. Just don't expect longevity.

  • Most critical review

Good grinder but timer all wrong

It grinds coffee well, and there is a good range of grinds available- from fine to coarse. However the lowest grind duration setting is two cups, which is too much. There are two ways around this if, like me, you grind fresh for each cup. You can either start counting when it starts and then turn it off when it has ground enough (before it stops) or grind a larger amount of coffee with a coarser grind. These are both unsatisfactory. I miss my Bodum burr grinder...which I destroyed,

  • Neat looking grinder

Looks nice and sits well in the corner, issues with ease of cleaning as it does not come with brush and the location of the grind outlet results in some mess on my workspace. Also the box shape of the collector is awkward to empty. Good grind and easy to hack via youtube tutorial. Reasonably consistent grind, for the price, use it for grinding for my aeropress and i would suggest dialing a setting above for cups, i.e pick 4 for 2 cups

  • SUPERB MACHINE

Excellent value for money. Gives a good range of grinding size. Most others that have an adjustable setting cost quite a lot more money, and without this feature (almost all cheaper grinders!) the grain size is not really fine enough for an espresso machine. It also measures out the right amount for your immediate needs. Early days, so can't comment on specific product longevity, although all our other Delonghi household items have performed and lasted very well... I would highly recommend.

  • It works well.

Never had a coffee grinder before, so not got any experience with these things. However, it has a nice range of adjustment, and it looks pretty good. The 2 cup setting really is about two cups worth. Maybe not the machine to get if you're going to be grinding at 2am. From what I can see of other coffee grinders, it's really not any cleaner or dirtier. They all pretty much throw a little dust around. Would I buy the same one again, yes I would!

  • Pros and cons

It works well, but the used must be prepared for the routine of setting the blend grade, the number of cups to fill, and trying to juidge the amopunt of beans to pace in the container ready to grind. Even thew tiniest of misalignment between the eventual container and the bosy of the machine stops the grinder working. There are always residues of the ground coffee left on the worksurface. However it does the job well.

  • Grinds beans with ease

I don't really see the difference between bean to cup and bean ground stuck in an air tight container and left in the fridge for 3 days consumption. So this little gem if you put it on 12 cups, it will grind enough coffee for half of my tin. So two grinds every 3-4 days does not stress it too much. The result is amazing and so much richer tasting coffee than pre ground. Its well built and very art deco looking so all in all a great buy

  • Good product.

Good product easy to use with timer per tbl/cup of coffee beans. A little effort needed to clean the inside with a kitchen towel and my big hands do not help. Would recommend this grinder. Update. The course/fine grinder knob randomly changes settings at no specific times of day, not a huge problem as all you need to do is check it before switching on. Perhaps we have a ghost! It's also very noisy towards the end of grinding.

  • The real deal - a proper burr coffee grinder that is one of the cheapest and one of the best

Burr coffee grinders are the best but can be expensive. Most grinders are mills with a blade which is not as good as grinding disks. If you want the best coffee then get a burr grinder. Confusingly some grinders claim to be coffee burrs but they have a blade so they are not. This is the real deal and one of the cheapest available. After some research I chose this based on expert reviews. I've only had it a few days but very happy with the results.

  • Excellent grinding capabilities.

Grinds to a fine powder or to a small granule, very quickly .Have not used this for coffee but for fishing pellets to make an ideal paste for fishing. Allows you to create a paste from which ever brand you prefer up to a size of 6mm.
