Awesome and Durable
I used, and wore out any number of meat grinders through the 1960s and 70s. Finally purchased Kitchen Aid mixer etc with a number of the accessories. I have used the grinder for processing my own Pigs, Deer and Elk for over 40 years. The unit has served me well for all my processing needs. The last couple of years the grinder body aged enough to begin a crack in a not critical place. Then I misplaced the grinding plates, hence the purchase. This one will certainly outlast me! This is just the same as the grinder that I have had for 40 years. Always easy to use and get good results for some of my favorite recipes. All is exactly as the one that finally showed cracks around the base of the plastic unit and the metal connection to the core grinder. This is such a positive statement to the quality. A great solid chunk of metal rather than the newer cheap, stamped grinding knife Kitchen Aid currently offers for sale.
I like this product because it is from the time that kitchen aid still made a good quality product. I bought a new grinder, used it once, was extremely disappointed (and overcharged by the store), and returned it the very next day. Best For Occasional Use
Grinder works great. The tapered feed tray is the issue. 1st grind is excellent. 2nd is very difficult to feed through tray due to tapered shape. Ground meat mostly pushes out around feed handle when trying to press it down to auger and grinder when making sausage. Otherwise grinder works great!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Well built and reliable
Kitchen aid is always well built and reliable. We use our grinder for sausage and making our own burger and grinding relish. With the stuffing horn attachment stuffing casings is pretty easy. Great way to save money! I have been using my food grinder regularly for about a month, and am very happy with it. Making my own ground beef has raised the quality of the foods I'm eating. From burgers to sauces, there is nothing that will not taste exponentially better by doing it yourself from scratch. Like my old FGA with minor size difference
This will work to replace my FGA that has fractured over time. The hopper is a bit taller than my old grinder, so the food tray that sits atop the grinder hopper is difficult to attach and there are some gaps where these pieces meet. However, it works great as a replacement grinder and the compatibility with the food tray is close enough. I’m very happy to get a replacement grinder as Kitchenaid appears to have discontinued production of replacement parts.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
