Good product. Works on stainless steel when many do not.
The trick is to tighten the cutter in small increments and to lubricate the cutting wheels so keeping the forces applied low. Like a sharp saw, fast light strokes work best and are kindest to the tool. On round pipe of even wall thickness a clean break off of the pipe and a smooth finished cut edge results (e.g. compared to an ange grinder, plasma or acetylene torch, or even a fine toothed hack saw). Provided there is reasonable access to one side of the pipe then the cutter works where other tools would not or would risk damage to parts nearby (e.g. when cutting an exhaust from a car). Where the pipe is out of round or the wall thickness uneven then part of the pipe wall may not cut right through but so far a bit of repeated bending has been sufficient to finish the job. A good product. Where there is free access and a power supply to hand I will stick to other tools (including conventional roller based cutter for finished ends) but where access is restricted this can do what nothing else can both safely and fairly quickly. Sealey Pipe Cutter - OK for cutting exhausts on cars with poor ot limited access.
Used it to cut 60mm Exhaust pipe with a 2mm thickness. The cut was lubricated with a cutting grease to help keep the cutters sharp. Having read other reviews I only tightened it a little each time and it took about five minutes. The cut is not perfectly square on the tube end. Presumably with care you could line it up better. Once the cutters break thru, tension is lost and it can be difficult to break the uncut section even though it is very thin. Does allow cutting with limited access. Not so good with stainless steel
Would be excellent product for cutting standard mild steel tubing which I'm sure would tackle with ease. However it struggled with 2.5mm stainless so had to resort to angle grinder.
