Sealey Tyre Changer Pneumatic/Manual Operation TC962
Tyre outlets don't always supply the tyres that you want, or if they do, not at a sensible price. Also they rarely fit 3rd party tyres.
I bought this product so that I could change tyres on my car myself rather than having to rely on tyre outlets.
I own several Sealey products because they are good quality, and this product is a quality one as well.
It has a very substantial steel construction and is well up to the job it was designed to do.
The air operated RAM is massive and made short work of breaking the tyre beads. I did find the RAM difficult to use on wide tyres due to there not being enough gap between the end of the RAM and the machine baseplate. I had to use the RAM at an angle which made the wheel prone to either tipping up or sliding. This is something Sealey need to sort with a wider frame gap, and a longer RAM.
The turntable and rubber mat is equally as massive as the RAM. The wheel was held firmly in place by the air RAM whilst the tyre was manually removed from the rim.
I thought the price of nearly £700 was a lot for a chunk of steel and an air RAM, but it does the job as advertised. I feel that an automatic turntable for tyre removal should have been included for the price. A highly recommended product despite the high price.
Bought this Tyre Changer from FFX as they were the cheapest. Have now used this item for over a year to change and puncture repair my tyres. It is easy to set up apart from drilling the floor to fasten the unit down. It easliy bead brakes and using both tyre levers one for steel and one for alloys it proved no problem to remove tyre. The downside is the alloy tyre lever you have to buy, however it is not expensive. I have made a rubber disc shield to protect the alloy rim centres as the pressure cap is steel. Pound for pound it is an excellent Tyre Changer and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to pay £25 for a puncture repair. A great manual tyre changer and easily put to one side when not needed. Magic.
It does the job that i bought it for.
