DMX connection - 3-pin XLR in & out. A classic multi-colour derby effect with multiple beams twisting in formation. 9 colour 3W LEDs. LED : quantity - 9 x 3W. We are located just outside of Maidstone in Kent.
My initial excitement about this DJ light took a nosedive when I discovered it only had a power link input rather than the expected input/output for daisy chaining. It felt like the manufacturer had cut corners, and it almost made me want to toss it in the trash. The absence of power link output means I have to resort to using messy, heavy, and expensive extension cables to daisy chain the lights, which can be a real hassle for a mobile DJ.
However, it's not all doom and gloom. On the bright side, the remote control is a shining star in this setup, delivering an excellent performance. Additionally, the inbuilt programs and sound-to-light feature are quite impressive, making this DJ light a valuable tool for enhancing your shows.
In the grand scheme of things, despite the major let-down with the power link situation, I'd rate this product an 8/10. It's a real shame that such a small oversight can impact an otherwise promising product.
These lights are OK, but there is no separate control for R, G, B, W. That means if you are using DMX or need a specific colour like red for instance, you can't just get red. For some reason colours are grouped into three. So if you use DMX and try and attempt to get just red you will get a mixture of red, off white and in our case green.
With usual DMX the settings are R / G / B / W / Dimmer /Strobe/Motor/Auto etc. However with this unit the DMX makes no sense! You can reprogram the on board DMX controller output chip to make it more useable if you have knowledge. I suspect like all things made in China the basics were lost in translation.
If you want a more controllable unit go for the ADJ mini Dekker that has full control on colours and the stepper motor is better quality so it can crawl slowly. If you can get hold a Prosound Derby like we had that was well over 15 years old, these are well built and fully DMX'able as well.
The unit is perfect for a mobile disco as it's bright with strong beams (although the pre focus is a bit lacking). It's just a shame they lost the plot with this one.
