Hidden virtues.
Although I rarely need an intrinsically safe multimeter for that specific feature, there are 2 other advantages of such a meter, by virtue of it's design. 1/ its dust proof and 2/ it's waterproof!! This means it can be used in arduous environments without risk to the internals. For industrial type work places this is very good. Although I wouldn't go so far as to use it in a very wet situation, like underwater, for obvious reasons(!!), it does mean that it's integrity isn't compromised by getting wet in the rain, or similar things. Aside from this, it has characteristic bomb proof Fluke build quality, it is well specified, reliable, accurate and trustworthy.
