Quick and easy to set up
Always a bit of a gamble when buying a new game and although the written instructions were initially a little confusing once we started playing it soon made sense. The concept is actually quite simple but it's the tactics involved that make it an interesting and exciting game. A unique, strategy board game.
This is a strategy board game using a novel play format. I bought it primarily to play with the grandchildren but my wife and I enjoy playing it together too. The rules are comparatively simple and straightforward and for people who find it difficult to read rule books it is easy to explain as one starts playing stage by stage. Great game, easy to pick up, it really makes you think, its not just a dice game or a word game its a real strategy game. We play board games and attend board games parties etc. would recommend it highly for both learners who want to try and play board more cerebral than Monopoly and Scrabble but also experienced gamers really love it too ! PS My partner and I have no connection with anyone who makes games but we do attend gaming nights and sessions. I've played a lot of board games, and when we finished the first game of Azul, we all could tell we had a jewel in our hands. Azul it's not only beautiful, but its mechanics are easy to understand for all ages, but challenging to master, which make the game addictive and fun! Fun and accessible
Azul is easy to learn, easy to teach and easy to play. But the options and the strategy, do you take the tiles you need, or block an opponent and make them "drop tiles"... it's full of choices and opportunities.
