What's not to like?
I got this for the kitchen, specifically for Sous Vide cooking. It's powerful for that and does the job perfectly. I've got no idea about plumbing pipes together but I imagine it'd do that job as well. It lights instantly and came with four cans of gas. I will say, there wasn't any instructions on how to fit it to the can of gas (It's just push and twist) but, unless you're a four year old kid, it'll take you about 2 seconds to work it out. Actually, make that three seconds because you have to take the cap off the can first. I looked at similar products at Screwfix and Toolstation, this was less than half their price, without the gas.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Blow torch butane
This kit is great. I have been using it to solder sterling silver and the flame output is just fine for that. You can adjust the flame output also. Surprisingly the cans of gas lasts a long time. Flaming good deal
Exactly as described - works well with plenty of spare gas. Have used this for plumbing / soldering purposes and fine. Refills are readily available at several sources. Ignition works first time. Excellent false gun

Good blow torch using standard butane gas cartridges
The attraction to me is that this product uses standard gas cartridges instead of strange gas mixes at premium prices, meaning cartridges can be as low as £1.20 each (B&M Bargains for example). The built-in ignition feature is also a real plus point so you don't have to hunt around for a box of matches. Simple to start
My blow lamp is only used for starting my wood burner. I find it perfectly sufficient for my needs. It is not in the same league as required by plumbers. Great for cooking/DIY and value for money, just treat it with respect
Its a simple design and has many uses. Use it for cooking mainly to char food slightly but also good for soldering etc (at a DIY level). Handy for starting a fire too. TIP: The steel part gets hot, no surprise, but be very careful when removing from can. Also if there is any leakage it is more than likely to be a faulty canister.
