vax air reach swivel
ordered from argos ebay store,ordered it 2 pm it was here 9 am the following day,how good is that !!! i ordered the one shown in the pictures but actually received a better model,i have the one shown in the pictures already,hence why i wanted another one to leave upstairs in the house as it picks everything up. i have a chow chow dog and they dont come any hairier than that,look them up and you will see what i mean and my vax just sucks them up with ease,i was always a dyson man before,but never again,overpriced pieces of plastic in my opinion and nowhere near as good,this comes with a 6 year guarantee from vax and i had to return one before and there customer service was excellent its cheap,its mega powerful,light and easy to use and a very good price,how good is that !!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Disappointed !
I had a VAX MACH AIR for 7 years was lightweight powerful brilliant clean, easy to manoeuvre that's why I bought this one, but this although the same weight 4.9 kg feels much more cumbersome and heavy? Is not easy to manoeuvre because the stick handle moves around the space it is inserted into, feels sloppy, so it makes it hard to push/pull and manoeuvre the vax around! Also I know this is refurbished but has a lot of scratches on the casing, has been well used! Mine was in better condition but could get the brush head with the bearings so had to scrap it! When I attempted to put the brush tool on it just fell off again! Pros: very strong suction and a good clean as good in fact, but would not buy another refurbished as you don't know what you're getting. Converted Dyson user
Personally I see no need to spend hundreds of £'s on a vacuum, my daughter raves about her £300 + cordless Dyson, but the batteries run out and recharging consumes time and energy. My Vax is lightweight, has 10m of cord, which is actually a lot, and does a perfect job cleaning carpets thick and thin also tiled floors. I am in the routine of emptying the cylinder after each use and it still shocks me the amount picked up - for goodness sake we are 2 adults and a cat!! The slight negatives are the cord storage is not designed for the length of cord so it is loosely looped over the handle, which is unsightly and its a bit fiddly getting the attachments out - unlike a Dyson being fully connected through he handle, I am tending to leave those bits needing the tube attachment until the end and doing in one fell swoop. Having said that I do love the mini brush head for the stairs, bed, curtains, cushions - that really is a wonderful tool. I also like the head of the Vax is quite flat and not so wide so it fits under furniture very easily, I am cleaning areas long forgotten ..... Overall a lovely machine, am very happy with it - yes a couple of negatives but I can live with them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Vax air reach hoover
The vax is very light weight making it easy to do the stairs, which is also aided with having a long power cable. The vax has very good suction and with a switch of a button you can turn the turbo on and off which can be seen with a green light which is of benefit when vacuuming a delicate rug. An excellent workhorse!
This is the second Vax Mach Air Reach I have purchased. My first one was about five years ago and it is still going strong. This second one is for my daughter. I have two cats and two dogs and I find the suction on the cleaner easily picks up fur. The wand and extension hose reach to the top of the stairs. The Vax is easy to empty and clean and also has a long electric cable. Also the filters are easy to change when necessary and the plastics on the Vax are robust. Great Hoovers
This is the third one of this type I have bought. They are really great. I notice the latest generation is a little quieter, but still has enough power to lift carpets on full power!! These aren't really hoovers to buy if you use the tools a lot because they are a bit fiddly to disassemble and detach tools and so on. You also have to get on the floor to detach the vacuum hose to attach the tool hose ~ not great for the elderly. Fantastic - but very heavy
Really impressed with this, I've had Dysons in the past but this definitely has better suction, amazing the amount of dust it got out the carpets. As a result this is very heavy to use, noticeably heavier than the Dyson. The 'reach' also isn't great as it doesn't reach more than half way up my stairs so doesn't really work for what it was designed for. Lightweight but a fighter
This vacuum was bought to replace my old Air Reach that had got to the end of it's useful life. Good points; Excellent for carpets and hard floors. Six year Guarantee. Bad points; Rugs!!!!!, the vacuum has a life of it's own when it comes to rugs, loves to grapple with, try to swallow, and just fight with them. Vax vaccum
