Sensible little compost bin

Bad design
It looks attractive on the kitchen worktop. It looks likes a smart expensive kitchen gadget, not at all like a compost bin. So that’s very nice. Also, it’s just the right capacity at 2.5L for a 1-2 person household. But there is a major design fault in that you cannot remove the inner (green) bucket to empty it or to give it a thorough wash, without first detaching the white lid. There are no instructions as to how to do this (the product’s tag says “lift the lid and remove it” - very helpful I don’t think!) and I don’t dare try in case I break the hinge. In any case, I don’t want to be unclipping and reassembling the lid every day, because plastic is fragile and it breaks eventually if you keep pulling and pushing at it. So that’s very annoying and a design fault. My bin arrived with a big scratch down one side, which is an argument for buying things in the shops rather than online, so you can see exactly what you are getting, but with Covid Lockdown and massive social distancing queues, I can’t be bothered to go to the High Street anymore.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good looking and a convenient size for kitchen waste
I have accepted the idea of recycling food waste in my home of two adults, and my local authority collects the waste regularly. I previously used an old plant pot holder but it was not really suitable. The Addis waste bin is a very attractive container, has a lid to conceal the contents and is a good size for our household. I use a 6 litre compostable bag available widely online and I change it every couple of days to prevent deterioration of the contents. The waste bin also has a rubber ring surrounding the base to make it non slip. Perfect caddy

Easy clean plastic with removable inner and lid. The removable inner makes it easy to clean if you put your waste directly in...…….or insert a biobag, tuck the edges in and insert the inner back into the caddy for a neat bin liner with no tatty, protruding edges and less cleaning to do. smart versatile good value
This food waste bin is really excellent. Well made and smart design. All washable and looks like it will wear well. Although it is advertised for food waste i already have one for that purpose. This one is for the bathroom. I looked for a small waste bin but couldn't find one i liked. Then i spotted this (the lime green trimmings are nice) which is just the right size and suits the purpose.
