Easy to set up and effective WiFi range extender

I found the BT 11AC WiFi extender very easy to set up and it solved a not spot problem. The LED signal strength indicators make determining a suitable midway location for the extender a doddle. Its receiver appeared to be better than that in my HP laptop as I found I was able to locate the extender within the area where my laptop was struggling to obtain a signal from the BT hub. Having set up the extender the next step is to log onto its signal. When within the area served by the extender on your laptop etc you need will need to search for networks and log onto the extenders output. The extender uses the same ID as the BT hub preceded by EXT2. The logon password being the same as used to log onto your BT hub. I bought the BT 11AC refurbished from the-phone-outlet it was as new at a nice price and with a 12 months warranty. I am very pleased with my purchase. It solved my not spot problem and was easier to set up than other extenders that I have set up.

Simple to connect with WPS, easy to use and doesn't use much power

Easy to set up using WPS. I had to download instructions but fairly straightforward. I had a BT Dual-Band adapter before but this suddenly stopped working - a power supply failure probably. The only disadvantage of this one is that it displays the extended Wifi as two extra SSIDs (i.e. network connections) and you have to put in the passwords for these on each gadget or device using them, a bit tedious, whereas the previous version did not. It uses a lot less power than the BT Whole Home Wifi that I had on trial (which uses 20W for three discs, i.e. about £20 p.a. to run), and works just as well in our house.

  • More than just a good dual band Wi-Fi extender

I had a specific issue. An old Sky Wi-Fi link unit, hosting a Sky+ box, would not talk consistently with a new BT Superhub 6. I needed to get an ethernet link to the Sky+ box via Wi-Fi. Powerline was not possible as the Sky+ box was on a different ring main. The Wi-Fi strength was not the issue. The BT 1200 extender has an ethernet port for configuration. This port can also be used to hardwire a device. Worked like a dream.

  • Easy to setup and does the job

I found this item easy to setup and it has improved my Wi-Fi in that part of my home when before it would often trip out. Not cheap but I purchased another make much cheaper for the other end of my home but found it difficult to setup and most importantly not a secure Wi-Fi and photos etc don't load up. Again you sometimes get what you pay for

  • Quality High-band Extender

If you have one of the BT dual-band routers that fails to do what the box claims and you can't even get a signal in the next room the 750 version of this extender is a far better and cheaper purchase. If you have multiple floors in need of a boost without resorting to Cat5 then this 1200 extender is a very good solution. Both models are very easy to setup. True plug and play. Just flick the switches to the required settings and press the Router WPS button and then the Extender WPS button and the devices will sort themselves out. Excellent products. At either 2.4 or 5 bands.

  • Wi Fi Extenders

With the main hub located at one end of our long thin house we had needed to use BT hot spot extenders to reach the other end, but they kept dropping out. BT recommended moving to their complete Wi-fi disc system which would significantly increase our monthly charges, so we tried using two of these extenders which directly connect to the hub rather than the previous hot spot extenders. These reconditioned units were half the price of new units from BT. With one upstairs and one downstairs located in the middle of the house we now have a strong signal in all rooms as well as outside. Win win 👍

  • Easy to set up extender.

This extender was very easy to set up and to get working. Unfortunately, from my experience and others found in an internet search, it does not work with Shell broadband. It connects to the Shell router easily but you cannot connect devices via the extender as the password precludes it. Clearly an issue for Shell to address!

  • Works fine with a bit of trial and error.

I recently moved to a 4 bedroom detached home. The router is plugged in at one downstairs corner of the building as that's where the socket is. Even though the house is only modest inside, I found that upstairs at the opposite corner of the home, the signal was weak. I bought the BT extender after doing some research. It was easy to connect to my router. Finding the best spot for the extender was more tricky, as most places gave the result of being too near the router. However, I eventually found a socket where it said it was "a bit too near". This gave full signal strength everywhere. The extender appears well made, and works fine with a bit of trial and error.

  • Does the Job

Couldnt get wifi in bungalow bt with this it solves prob. Tho when doors shut red light is on saying 2 far but still wks so im not using up my contract wifi on my mobile when should be able to get all thru house. Where as could have done thru B.T but that would have meant changing our contract & we already unlimited would have cost to change when only half way thru contract. Only realised how bad after having an operation & needing to rest in bed & using all my mobile allowance for first time eva!!! Worth it!

  • Duel band WiFi range extender.

I have not seen a great improvement so far but I believe it's not the product but is due to our very poor internet signal constantly dropping out once this has been sorted then I can give a honest and true review
