A Good Value Sound Bar
This sound bar was easy to set up. Sound is very much clearer and that is helpful when your hearing is slightly impaired. The bar sits tidily in front of our TV and looks good. Good product but input levels mismatched to my TV's outputs - YMMV
I bought the Sharp HT-SB140 soundbar because the sound from my Toshiba 49UL5A63DBS TV was a bit feeble for concerts or music shows, and having read numerous reviews it looked like great value for money for £60 particularly as it supports HDMI ARC so the volume can be controlled with the TV remote. It does indeed respond to the TV volume control, but unfortunately the sound ended up quieter than from the TV itself. The TV is rated at 10W, the soundbar at 150W so something's wrong. Frustratingly as soon as the HDMI ARC connection is activated the TV turns its own sound off - it would be much better if both worked at the same time - but that's the TV's fault not the soundbar's. So I tried Bluetooth - here the TV sound stays on but the soundbar is almost inaudible at maximum volume and makes no difference at all. Finally I used the 3.5mm jack connector; this also turns the TV sound off but at least the soundbar is louder than the TV was - though not by much, and I now have to use the soundbar's remote. So the soundbar is expecting a much higher output from the TV over HDMI and even more so over Bluetooth. I suspect the problem is the TV as if I stream music to the soundbar from my phone over Bluetooth the volume is great. Anyway regardless of the volume issues, the quality of the output is appreciably better than the TV, much clearer sound with better bass. It's not as loud as I really wanted but it looks like I would need to spend about £200-£300 or more which I'm not doing as the TV only cost £350. Although I've not got HDMI ARC to control the volume, at least it turns on and off automatically with the TV, which I didn't expect over the 3.5mm jack. So overall, not bad for £60 but slightly disappointing. It might be great with a different TV; it is great with my phone.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Reconditioned but like brand new. Great sound, very loud. Proper A/C power cord (no adapter/converter needed. Goes on and off with tv when connected via HDMI lead. small improvement but dont expect too much
Well made and is a better sound than my Sharp 4T-C40BJ3KF2FB 40 Inch 4K UHD tv BUT volume is disappointing and you lose control of sound settings within the TV and the 3 sound settings built into the sound bar are disappointing too. easy to install from settings on tv, choose amplifier speaker, connect done in 2 minutes, it is not as simple as plug n play but with a bit of know how its easy, nice item for 3rd of cost of branded name similar output items, great for tvs upto around 55", once connected, the tv remote should operate soundbar by on,off button, and volume controls, so no messing with 2 remotes, other than for music,news, film mode, personally I leave it in movie mode ! overall great all round punchy performance for less than sixty quid !Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Grade C but not a scratch and saved a whole chunk of money.
Missed the cheap Sharp soundbars in Lidl, then saw this grade C better one. Its excellent works with the HDMI ARC outlet on my Toshiba TV so turns on when the TV does and can use the TV remote. No hassle at all, sounds much better then the TV. Given it's a Grade C return it's like new, everything included. Excellent quality HDMI issues
The below information needs to checked before purchasing The Soundbar does indeed work with HDMi however the connection issues most people run into are due to the HDMi Ports and settings on a TV. If your TV has a HDMi output you must use this connection, if you use a HDMi input port then you will not be able to use HDMi for sound. The connection of HDMi ARC is when the TV Sends the sound through the HDMi Cable from the HDMi Ouput port and into the Studio Soundbar and this is when the connection will work. However a lot of TV's only have a HDMi input, this is so that you can plug a device in and play through the TV but as the port doesn't give out a signal you will not be able to play sound through an external device. If this was the case the Soundbar does have an Optical Cable connection and this is the best connection.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
