Not for tactical use
This is a fine sight...accurate and easy to pick up...but the rear sight flew off my gun after a few shots. Tiny screws are easy to over-tighten (strip), but the shock of a pump gun will dislodge under-tightened sights. These should come with a torque recommendation, I guess. I am going to flow some lock-tite under the sights after some more shooting. Also, I am confident that the sights will not withstand a drop or heavy bump, regardless of proper installation. The mounting system is sufficient for case-carry and field use, I am sure, but I would not trust these as my primary sighting system on a gun slung across my back during an operation. This should not be a deterrent for those that purchase these for the intended purpose...which is clearly stated as turkey hunting.
I made easy 25 yard head shots with slugs, and patterned my buckshot well, using the large aperture as a distance gauge. If these were made with a solid base plate, and were made with specific vent rib dimensions in mind, with protective 'wings' on the sides, I think they would be ok for heavy duty use/abuse.
Good sights. Finicky to set up. Not heavy duty. Overall, considering the ease of installation, price, and sight picture...I would recommend them for field/home use, but not operations/tactical use.
