The 120N model accepts 120-format roll film and includes both 6 x 4.5cm and 6 x 6cm inserts to record 16 or 12 exposures per roll, respectively. The Holga is best known for its standard-length 60mm f/8 plastic lens that produces a soft, dream-like aesthetic, which is further accentuated by the inherent vignetting and light leaks caused by the plastic body and simple construction.
I knew what to expect with this camera, however I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth focussing action. My copy seems not to have internal light reflections or film fogging issues. The image quality is what it is; reasonably sharp in the middle and progressively more blurry out to the edges. Straight lines away from the centre aren’t straight. Vignetting is not too bad on my camera.
This was a gift (although I do have one myself). He loves it and is making good use of it. The build quality is cheap, but that's one of it's charms, producing unique shots with light leaks and vignetting.
Holga camera images have a 'unique' vibe so questions about reliability and image quality are, to s certain extent, redundant but this camera is fine, within the limitations of the genre,
