Good - Not Perfect - But Well Worth the Money
I have a Grudig Radio, with similar features, which I bought back in the 1992 for about $ 100.00. It was a great radio. I needed a replacement. I cjose this one and it works well. The signal to noise ratio is a little high and the sound clarity is OK, not great. But this radio does have good sensitivity and selectivity. Tecsun R909 - good little pocket size radio
For a pocket sized radio it delivers good sound. AM reception is very good, FM not so much (but you don't get this to listen to Hendrix), SW is good for a radio this size. Easy to operate. Because it truly analog the two AA batteries last a very long time. I've had the same alkaline batteries in it for probably around 200 hours of playtime and it is still going strong. The local/DX switch is a big plus. It has input jacks for headphones and DC, but adapter and headphones are not included. I understand this radio has been discontinued which is unfortunate. String Tuner, Sound Not That Good
The tuning knob is string, which I expect will break anytime. I know this kind of tuner, and I can tell it is string. The reception is not all that good. Have to move the antenna to the right location and even then it is not crisp and clear. Tiny radio
I expected it to be a small but it's even smaller than I thought. Still though the sound quality is pretty good I live deep in the hills of Northern California and radio reception is not always easy to get.
