Excellent Speaker. Get 'Em While You Still Can
I recently purchased this pair of Q100s as an open-box. The speakers look absolutely brand new. I'm using them for surround duty in my 5.1 system along with the r700s and 200c, and they blend in perfectly. At a retail price of 549, the Q100 are a good value. They are extremely detailed and clear. They lack the low end, but come on, they have a 5.25" woofer and aren't an audiophile grade speaker. The uni-q driver really gives a wide sound stage and provides great detail for such a low price. These speakers would do great for a small to mid size room for front and surround duty, and blend in well with a good sub. The front port gives you more flexibility where to place them. I'll be keeping my eyes open for more deals as I'd like another pair to eventually set up a 7.1 system. Best under 1K speakers out there!
I had the more expensive KEF's, so this was just to use as surrounds. Well, that didn't happen. These are one of the best speakers at, or well above their price range you can get. The sound really belies their small size. They can easily fill a small to medium size room with accurate and beautiful sound. If you want the more expensive Ls 50's, and can't afford them, you can't go wrong with these. You won't get the same build quality as the more expensive Ls 50, but you do get the same driver.
