KitchenAid Garbage Disposal is better, but can it go the distance?

It’s the only brand disposal I’ve ever owned. Always reliable and powerful. FYI they carry a five year warranty. My aged mother's 2016 1/2hp Kitchen Aid disposal suddenly quit working one morning and after a bit of troubleshooting, it seemed replacement was the best option.
