I was shocked to discover that my little cat puddy had liver cancer
And the animal hospital recommended that I needed to encourage her to drink more water. This raised a challenge for me as she was not eating very much either. I remembered when she was younger that she would drink from running water and looked on eBay for a product that may offer some hope for her. After looking at various products I came across this drinkwell pet water fountain, but needed something where I could control the water flow so that the noise would not intimidate her this product fitted the bill. At first she would go up to the pet fountain and just look at it and she would smell near it. Eventually, she began drinking from the fountain, what a relief this meant I could stop giving her water via a syringe. Through the help of the animal hospital and medication that she is on she has started to gain a little weight. It comforts me that she has a clean source of running water (the unit has a filter) always available to her when I am not home during the day time. I hope to try and capture this special moment and put it on YouTube so it may give others hope in a similar situation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

PetSafe Drinkwell Water Fountain 1.5l Original
I seriously don’t recommend buying one of these water fountains!! I have bought 2 in total the first being the smaller version that stopped working after approx 2 months. My cat Willow loves to drink fresh water (often from the bathroom tap!) so I decided to purchase another, the larger version, hoping it would be better quality. When it arrived the black lever which adjusts the water flow wasn’t working but as the flow rate was ok I decided not to return it. Big mistake!! Now 4 months later the pump has stopped working correctly and only a trickle of water is flowing from the spout!! Having bought all the filters and brushes to keep the machine working as it should I’ve now wasted around £65 on these water fountains which last just a few months if you happen to be lucky!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice product
It's louder than I expected but I've not had any splashes from it as per other reviews so I would imagine the splashes came from the animals drinking out of it. It's good quality and other wise does exactly what it says on the tin. I like a quiet house and you will hear it but that's the only thing I can say bad about it. Great product otherwise. Did not take long to (partially) fail
Whilst the fountain does what we needed it to do (encourage our cat to drink more water) the little motor powering the flow of water into the fountain has a small black plastic handle to alter the flow rate. Within two weeks this had failed so now all we have is the lowest flow rate - which cannot be altered. It is JUST about sufficient flow to make the product moderately OK for what we bought it for but the price paid vs the quality of the item is NOT good value.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Noisy
I have always had cats; this is a good product to get as the water is filtered and doesn't stand and get dusty; the minute I turned it on the whirring noise shot my cat and kitten out of the door and on their way to Mars if they could have got there!!' Expensive to return but they agreed to go halves with me as it was in Ireland; not something I thought of when buying in fact £12; the item wasn't cheap so all in all a bit disappointed. Pratical & reliable Water Fountain for pets.
This is the third Drinkwell Pet Fountain I have bought, in this design. They last quite a few years and the cats love them.
