Small, Fast, Easy
Xerox WorkCentre 3215/NI Monochrome Multifunction Printer:
This is a good value, with fast and cheap printing (about $.02/page), compact footprint. I like it. I set it up over Linux mint and Fedora OS, which took a little head scratching, but not bad, and it works great. Use cups printing. Wifi is reliable, page printing is fast, or fast enough for a small printer. I particularly like the Xerox warranty.
If it stops working (I think 2 years) you call them, they send another machine express mail to your door, then you return the broken one if the same box, prepaid. Nobody even comes close to that. I've done it, twice with other machines in the past, so it's not a hollow promise. This is primarily why I went with the Xerox, and the quality is pretty good, as good as HP, who I think also makes very good printers. I have an HP MFP 3300 that is a workhorse, and still working after 12 years. It's archaic in digital years, but it keeps on printing.
I haven't used the fax, because, ummm, who faxes anything anymore, except maybe the government. Scanner is good. The printing interface is a little cumbersome, it serial button navigation. I could have paid more to get the LED screen, but I guess I was just to cheap for that on this printer, plus this one was on sale. If I wasn't so thrifty, I'd go with the LED screen model. Just easier menu navigation, but it's not a big deal. I don't use that too often.
I would rate this machine as an 8-9 all things considered, compared with a Cannon and HP's I owned.
