My go to leather care product
Best product out there for leather goods! I use this on everything -- belts, purses, shoes -- all my leather goods and it makes such a huge different -- returns the leather to a near new look! Great for Shoes or any Leather Goods that get exposed to inclement Weather
I am a leather crafter and use both undyed veg-tanned leather and drum dyed leather and I use Dr. Marten's Wonder Balsam as the last step for most of my handmade items. It is a mix of coconut oil and lanolin and bee's wax. It is colorless and the oil and lanolin soak into the leather while the bee's wax stays on the surface. After applying a nice coating with the supplied sponge and giving it time to soak in (I actually warm the leather with a blow dryer first so it absorbs the oils faster) you buff it with a soft cloth and the bee's wax makes a water resistant coating and leaves a slightly waxy feeling to the leather. Most good leather shoes today are made of what is known as "waxy leather" including my Clarks of England and my Dr. Marten's. I have tried several different products but Dr. Martens gives me the results I'm looking for.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I have 2 pairs of Made in England docs, one is oxblood and the other is brown. While the balsam did a great job on both for sure brown is the most evident. My brown docs were bought used and after some time you could tell they were dry and needed some hydration. This instantly hydrated the leather and made the scuffs disappear. I can't say it does too much with cracks in leather but perhaps if I used it earlier it would have prevented it. But overall, the balsam does wonders.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
