Nice well made design with 5 different "settings"
I had to replace my ageing JML all plastic Mandolines as the plastic had cracked with age, after looking round at some of the more modern offerings the VonShef design looked the best, having legs it stands over a plate or shallow dish to catch the sliced/chopped items. Outstanding value for a great kitchen tool!
This mandolin is just the business! I really like the julienne blade for making a raw vegetable salad which everyone loves because it is just tiny pieces in a vinaigrette and is easy to eat. The French fry blade is great for cutting stirfry veg, while the different thicknesses of slice have also made my recipes, such as dauphinoise potatoes, simpler to create. There's a German version identical to this one which sells for £40, this was £10 - arrived in its wrappings in its box, like new. Worth every penny
I've used this product a few times now and all I can say is I love it to bits I was unsure at first as my old mandolin had a serrated blade, but this cuts through vegetables like a hot knife through butter I also like the fact you can change the inserts to the different thicknesses,rather than having to judge by twisting a knob or similar Also the great thing about the inserts is,with them out it makes it a whole lot easier to clean Would I recommend it Yes definitelyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
