I have an ELU 3338 that is the best router I have ever owned. Black & Decker bought ELU when it was struggling to stay alive. Then they merged (I think) with DeWalt. The Dewalt is the same exact case and base as the ELU 3338. All my router plates, collets and bases, swap/fit the DeWalt 625 so I bought it to replace my 28 yearly ELU when the variable speed just quit. The filling in the switch pot dry rotted after 28 years so I ordered a new part and now it works like the day I bought it. The DeWalt is very close to the ELU but no company is going to produce the 3338, because it would be a $675.00 router. But the DeWalt is close. Never thought it would be as good as it is. Only time will tell. I have two 3612 Mikita 3.25 HP routers, and i think the DeWalt is at least as good. It does handle better, and has plenty of power.
